Technical Accounting Manager

Due to continued growth my client are looking for  a strong practice trained accountant to help develop and grow their existing team by offering a strong expertise and technical knowledge in areas such as Irish/UK GAAP and IFRS. This is a unique opportunity which will offer the right candidate plenty of potential to develop

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to staff in areas of UK/IRISH GAAP, IFRS, Companies Acts, and Auditing Standards, where queries arise
• Prepare technical factsheets for internal and external distribution on common technical issues and changes in Standards/Companies Acts and their effect
• Provision of technical training
• Completion of detailed IFRS hot reviews on financial statements for technical accuracy
• Completion of detailed reviews of financial statements in line with Companies’ Acts and financial reporting standards to continue to improve the quality of financial statements produced
• Assistance in preparing the firm for the introduction of the new financial reporting framework
• Assistance in preparing the firm for the introduction of new Companies Bill
• Provide support to the audit department on a number of new initiatives; and
• Ad- hoc support on technical client work where required.

Requirements

• ACA/ACCA qualified
• 3-5 years plus PQE within a quality practice
• excellent technical accounting skills in Irish/UK GAAP and IFRS
• must be highly motivated with an ability to take ownership
• excellent attention to detail
• strong communication (both verbal and written) including ability to communicate effectively with senior management; and
• Excellent team player with an ability to work with cross functional teams
