ICT Systems Administrator

Location: Kildare . Type: Permanent. Salary: Negotiable . Reference# DH100241

DHRP are currently seeking to hire an experienced ICT Systems Administrator for our client based in Kildare. Our client is currently entering a period of significant change and development as it expands internationally, increases its ecommerce and digital presence, and enhances supporting information systems. The head office is located County Kildare and currently the company employs approximately 100 staff.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake day-to-day operational and administrative activities to the required standard:
  • Performing backups and restores
  • Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes
  • Adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting passwords, etc.
  • Maintaining network and data security
  • Troubleshooting any reported problems
  • Escalate problems and issues to suppliers as necessary
  • Ensuring that the network infrastructure is up and running
  • Monitoring of logs
  • Monitor of ICT service levels
  • Answering technical queries and assisting users
  • Develop and maintain ICT related policies, procedures and configuration documentation
  • Install, configure and test new hardware and software
  • Supplier and contract management - ensure that third party suppliers provide a quality service that meets business needs and gives value for money
  • Conduct regular reviews of our clients ICT infrastructure and services, pro-actively seeking to pre-empt problems and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure that ICT risks are identified, assessed, and effectively managed
  • Provide advice and guidance on ICT matters to senior management
  • Conduct disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Undertake such other tasks as may be required in order to maintain the operation and availability of information systems and ICT services at our client site

Requirements

  • A third level qualification at a higher level, preferably in an ICT related field
  • At least seven years’ of relevant working experience in ICT system administration, service management, and operations
  • Ideally a recognised ICT service management/operations certification (e.g. ITIL) at an intermediate or advanced level
  • Ideally hold a recognised Project Management certification
