Our client a recognised international and industry leading organisation in Dublin city centre, is looking to recruit a Head of IT (IT Director) to head up their IT department as they are currently experiencing a sustained period of extensive growth.

The ideal candidate will be confident, credible and approachable, a strong leader who can supervise and motivate a team of IT professionals. He/she will be able to pay keen attention to detail, but also be able to see the “bigger picture” - staying committed to the strategic vision and goals of the firm. Responsibilities

  • Manage the internal IT team and a diverse range of third party suppliers including one managed service contract
  • Develop, maintain and implement an ICT Strategy
  • Develop and implement annual action plans to deliver on this strategy on an annual basis
  • Provide technology solutions and advice to address existing business problems where appropriate
  • Develop and manage the ICT budget
  • Keep abreast of current trends, developments and issues in information and communication technology, and identify implications or opportunities
  • Provide advice and guidance on ICT issues to the senior management team
  • Agree ICT service level targets with divisions and other stakeholders, and ensure that these are implemented and monitored
  • Formulate, keep under review and enhance ICT policies and procedures, ensuring that they are legally compliant, reflect good practice, user-friendly and are implemented
  • Ensure compliance by the ICT function with relevant regulations, legislation (Data Protection Act(s), EU directives, etc.
  • Have accountability for the firms internal and client data security and ensure compliance to appropriate Irish and EU legislation and regulations
  • Manage ICT procurement in accordance with Irish contract law, and best practice
  • Participate in contract negotiations, signing of legal contracts and various service level agreements within pre-agreed limits
  • Supplier and contract management, ensuring that third party suppliers are providing a quality service that gives value for money and meets the on-going needs of the business
  • Conduct regular reviews of ICT infrastructure and services, pro-actively seeking to resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure that the ICT team and external providers take a “customer-centric” approach in the delivery of services, and that acknowledged ICT good practices are appropriately embedded

 Requirements

  • A relevant third level qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 10 years’ of relevant working experience, including 5 years’ in a management role
  • A proven track record managing and successfully delivering ICT projects and services
  • Experience of the management of ICT in a professional services environment would be an advantage
  • Prince 2 or similar project management qualification would be an advantage
