Supply Chain Consultant - Manager

Our client a leading employer in Ireland is looking to grow its Operational team who work with clients to deliver sustainable business transformation. Working with clients to transform their supply chains, develop new ways of working; from end to end supply chain strategies to optimisation of discrete areas of the value chain. Supply chain management will increasingly become a major service differentiator for clients so there will be huge growth potential for this role.

You will be part of a highly skilled, specialist team within a wider group of professionals. At the same time, you will be encouraged to initiate and develop new ideas to take to clients. This is an exciting and unique opportunity that will give the successful candidate an opportunity to work across a variety of sectors on some really interesting projects.

Some of the recent projects the team have completed successfully include:

  • Designed and implemented integration of two multinational FMCG companies
  • Developed and implementation plan for the integration of two national distribution companies
  • Implemented a cost reduction programme focussed on supply chain for a semi-state company
  • Led a project team to identify integration synergies and operational improvement for a global plastics manufacturing company
  • Managed the outsourcing of a significant operation for a national financial institution
  • Completed a procurement process and controls review for a national healthcare group

Responsibilities:

  • Development of supply chain vision and strategy
  • Network and inventory modelling
  • Logistics and distribution optimisation
  • Data capture and analysis
  • 3pl & 4pl distribution model review and design
  • Process and organisation design
  • Demand planning
  • Business integration

 Requirements

  • 3+ years total experience – including consulting experience from professional services, advisory or internal consulting environment
  • Client focused and commercially astute
  • Excellent understanding of leading business practices and trends
  • Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills, and excellent attention to detail
  • Adaptable and with an innovative approach to their work
  • Can effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with different audiences
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and report writing skills
  • Educated to degree level 
  • Experience of working with large-scale operations and/or in consulting roles
  • Supporting projects to deliver results for clients within agreed deadlines and budgets
  • Experience of managing client and internal stakeholder expectations
  • Supporting the delivery of formal and informal reports and presentations
  • Contributing to the preparation and presenting of compelling proposals for new client work

Desirable Skills

  • Supply chain experience from the public sector, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, consumer or FMCG sector
  • A relevant primary or advanced degree e.g. supply chain, management, MBA or equivalent
