Risk and Compliance Manager

My client a global organisation are looking to recruit a strong Compliance Manager who will be responsible for driving the necessary initiatives and plans, to monitor and control risk and maintain compliance and will report to the Risk Committee.

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with all applicable laws and regulations on an on-going basis and report periodically to senior management
• Co-ordinate the development and implementation of the company’s Risk Management Plan, working closely with the management team
• Act as the coordinator and contact person for any regulatory and international reviews
• Conduct periodic review of key operational areas
• Ensure that the firm complies with its AML obligations, and act as MLRO
• Work with the Risk Committee to leverage best practices in risk management, and be alert to new trends;
• Ensure that the Compliance Manual is kept up to date
• Conduct compliance training (including AML) across the firm
• Conduct risk assessments to identify regulatory, operational and reputational risk
• Assist in identifying risk associated with new products, services and jurisdiction

Requirements

• Professionally qualified accountant
• 3+ years’ experience in compliance at manager level
• Good technical skills and an understanding of regulatory and compliance processes, and risk management practices
• Persistence and an ability to pursue concerns and seek adequate explanations
• The competence to identify risks, evaluate and challenge risk mitigants and oversee the management of all risks in a rigorous and structured manner
• Attention to detail combined with the ability to overview processes
• A qualification in risk and/or compliance management would be an advantage
