Technical Accounting Manager

DHRP are partnering a leading organisation in Dublin 2 who are currently experience a sustained period of growth. They are looking to appoint a Technical Accounting Manager to bring a level of expertise and experience with Irish GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to the team. This is a new opportunity that will offer diversity and growth to the right candidate

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining in depth and up to date expertise in financial reporting matters to include: Irish GAAP – current and 2015, Irish company law – including the forthcoming consolidation and reform and EU directive changes, IFRS – as published by IASB and as endorsed by EU, Corporate Governance and rules of the Irish Stock Exchange (MSM; ESM; GEM etc.)
  • Responding to consultations by clients and partners and staff on financial reporting matters generally including identifying the appropriate standards and practical application guidance that apply to any financial reporting matter to hand
  • Pro-actively identifying financial reporting issues that can be monetised
  • Actively help develop high quality collateral on financial reporting matters for presenting to clients, conferences and publications
  • Reviewing financial statements to identify potential financial reporting issues
  • Assist in the responses to be developed by clients to correspondence from regulators and other third parties on financial reporting matters

Requirements

  • Ideally 5 years + accounting experience in a large accountancy firm
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA or equivalent)
  • You will have significant experience in solving financial reporting issues while achieving full compliance with standards
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS and GAAP (detailed knowledge of US GAAP is advantageous)
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to professional and client service excellence
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Ability to adapt and prioritise, while achieving excellent and timely service delivery
