Senior Financial Accountant - Cork

Our client, one of Ireland’s best places to work is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their Advisory team. The successful candidate will get to work closely with senior personnel on a range of high profile multinational projects working closely with clients to manage their month-end close activities. The successful candidate will gain Industry experience and exposure to the workings of international finance functions.  Due to the growth and success of the team, a strong remuneration and career path will be available to the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Month-end close, in accordance with agreed deadlines
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities in accordance with US GAAP and local GAAP for select international entities
  • Income statement and balance sheet review, including variance analysis
  • Reconciliation between US GAAP and local GAAP accounting and own the local stat audits for relevant entities
  • Working with clients to optimize several business functions, this may include projects relating to the financial statement process, review and remediation of business processes and short-term interim staffing assignments working within a team environment to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ensure the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data
  • Assisting on various ad hoc projects as required by the client
  • Stakeholder engagement, building strong relationships with client representatives
  • Liaising with auditors

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent IFAC qualification
  • proficient accountant, with strong knowledge of IFRS & US GAAP and strong knowledge of Irish GAAP
  • strong understanding of regulatory requirements desirable
  • strong computer skills – advanced knowledge of Microsoft office
  • excellent attention to detail and resolves issues as they arise
  • strong communicator, highly articulate with good report writing and excel skills
  • ability to learn quickly and keep abreast of developments (US GAAP, SOX)
  • ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Interest in improving processes through Technology
  • SAP or alternative ERP experience – desirable
  • Experience in  Multinational environment – desirable
