Payroll Specialist - Client Services

DHRP are working on an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join a growing team that delivers award-winning training and opportunities to their team. The successful candidate will get to work as part of growing client services team with plenty of scope for progression.  

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the payroll process for an existing portfolio of clients with minimal supervision
  • Overseeing the workflow of the junior payroll team and assisting and supporting them with payroll related queries
  • Training and coaching junior payroll team members
  • Processing and reviewing payrolls of varying degrees of complexity across weekly, fortnightly and monthly frequencies
  • Reconciling each payroll on a periodic basis
  • Developing bespoke payroll reports for clients including electronic journal entries
  • Dealing with client and team payroll related queries and developing relationships with existing and new clients
  • Adhere to strong internal controls to ensure best practice
  • Upload employee net pay across various bank platforms (e.g. BOI, AIB, Ulster Bank, HSBC, Bank of America etc.)
  • Liaise with third party suppliers and administration of all data e.g. Health Insurance, pension providers etc.
  • Set up new client payrolls, perform data migration and conduct parallel payroll runs
  • Ensure payroll returns are complete, accurate and submitted to Revenue on time
  • Assisting management team with billing and risk management activities
  • Assisting management marketing and business development activities
  • Perform any duties as may be required from time to time

Requirements 

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a payroll position of a supervisory nature
  • A third level diploma/degree or relevant qualification would be ideal e.g. Accounting Technician, Tax Technician etc
  • IPASS or similar qualification
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of payroll taxes
  • Detailed knowledge of ROS, EFT and CSO
  • Employment tax qualification or experience desirable
  • Has excellent experience in a supervisory role, leading a team of junior staff
  • Excellent experience at processing /managing and reviewing multiple payrolls
  • Excellent knowledge of report writing and nominal ledger set-ups (interface files);
  • Have a proven track record of accurate and timely payroll delivery
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to further develop relationships with existing clients (internal and external)
  • Has excellent knowledge and experience of working with different a number of different payroll software packages and dealing with payroll software issues
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and Outlook
  • Flexibility to meet changes in working requirements
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision and seek assistance when required
  • Drive and enthusiasm are a pre-requisite for this
